Rose also decides to produce two tapes for the child, Nora if it’s a girl and Steven if it’s a boy. When Rose delivers this news to the other Crystal Gems, Pearl pretends to be fine, but as soon she’s out of Rose’s sight, bursts into tears. Rose then shapeshifts a womb for their offspring to be born from. However, Rose is unfazed by this and decides to go through with it anyway, the reason as to why is left unknown. 21st CenturyĪfter dating for several years now, Rose and Greg decide to give birth a child, but at a cost, Rose will have to sacrifice her physical form, as well as her existence in order to do so. Sometime after this, Greg addresses Rose habit of telling him everything and tells that the past is the past and all that matters is who she is now. After saving both Greg and Sour Cream, Greg tries to tell Rose that she can’t let Sour Cream do whatever he wants, to which Rose says that he does whatever he wants and he’s okay, and it’s at this point that Greg realizes how irresponsible and immature he’s been acting, with Rose jokingly asking him, “Do you want to get down?” This shows how even though Rose loves humans, she still doesn’t quite understand how different they are from gems. Rose claims letting Sour Cream climb to the top will be a “formative experience” for him, to which Greg responds that it won’t be if he falls.

Rose however, allows Sour Cream to climb all the way to the top of a ferris wheel, to which Greg is understandably shocked to see when he returns.

Greg, not understanding the point of her statement, tells Rose to watch after Sour Cream while he finds his guitar. This shows how Rose doesn’t realize how much gems can grow up and change as well, seen with her and other gems, who all defected from Homeworld and are way removed from the beings they were when they first emerged. She also comments on how humans, on the other hand have the ability to grow up, while assuming gems will forever, remain static. That when they’re made, they already know they’re assigned purpose and stay like that forever. On one occasion, she helps him babysit Sour Cream, during so, she gives some insight to Greg on the process of gems. However, Rose now feels as though she has to confess everything to Greg. During this time period, Rose and Greg continue their relationship, with their bond growing closer, seen with hanging out more frequently in Greg the Babysitter.
